Principal's Message
Dear Sakai Families,

The wonderful Bainbridge Island High School students have created a district-wide spirit week. Please see the themes below. We are so excited to participate!

We appreciate your support during our book fair. I want to extend a huge thank you to all our volunteers. We could not have done it without you!

Have a wonderful week, Sakai!

Drew

Book Fair
Book Fair
Thank you for a successful Scholastic Book Fair last week! We met our goal for our students’ Sakai Library. Funds will be used for new books and related purchases for the library. Thank you to all the volunteers that helped make the event successful!

Online shopping (scroll to the bottom of the page) is still available through Sunday, December 15. A percentage of all sales go to support Sakai library.

If your student still has funds available in their Scholastic eWallets, please take note of actions you can take—particularly for 6th grade students whose last book fair was last week!
  1. You may shop online with Scholastic until 12/15, to benefit Sakai sales.
  2. You may use the balance to fund another wallet for another child in a BISD K-6 school.
  3. You may opt to use the funds for Scholastic Share the Fair fund for another upcoming Scholastic Book Fair.
Families will receive a monthly email reminder with their remaining balance so they don’t forget to use these funds in one of the ways listed above. (Be sure to check Spam folders.)

Support Our Staff with the Sakai PTO Book Wish List!

This holiday season, let’s show our staff how much we appreciate them! The Sakai PTO is hosting a Staff Book Wishlist Drive to help stock their shelves with books they’ve been wanting.

Browse the Amazon Wish List or purchase locally (just mark it off the list). Books can be dropped off at the front office by Tuesday, December 17th. We'll wrap and deliver them to teachers by the end of the year!
Thank you for helping us celebrate our amazing educators!

Lost and Found
Our Lost and Found items are overflowing!

We also have several electronic devices, keys, eye glasses and other small items in the office.

All items will be donated to charity during Winter Break.

Make Sure Your Student is Seen!
Safety First!
Bainbridge Island winter mornings and evenings are dark (and often rainy), making it difficult for drivers to see students walking or riding bikes. Before your student leaves for the day, please be sure they have the proper equipement to make them as visible as possible. For additional information, please review the tips on the Washington State Department of Transportation website
