I am a Northwest girl, having been born in Seattle, as was my mother and grandmother. (My Great Aunt, even wrote a book about Bainbridge, Bainbridge through Bifocals. I graduated from Highline High School; received my BA from Seattle Pacific University and MA from Lesley University. I started my teaching career in North Kitsap as an elementary classroom teacher. I have experience teaching at every grade level, K-8. I started teaching in the Bainbridge Island School District in 2007. My family and I enjoy outdoor activities like rafting and kayaking. I create art in a variety of mediums and love learning new techniques and skills. Another passion that I have is reading. I learned to read in 4th grade and then went wild. I am an avid reader. In 2007, when I taught 7/8 English, I got hooked on teen fiction but love reading a variety of genres. I have a son who is a graduate of University of Portland and a son who is a graduate of University of Hawaii. My daughter just graduated from Western Washington University.
