About Me

Hi there! My name is Ms. Naden-Johns, but I hope you'll call me Ms. NJ. Let me tell you a little bit about me! I was born and raised here on Bainbridge Island, and I am so glad to be working in the community where I grew up. I attended college in Seattle, where I got my B.A. in Global Development and Women's Studies. During that time, I also worked in Suquamish as a violin teacher at the non-profit, Kids in Concert. After college, I moved to Chicago, where I got my Masters in Elementary Education from Northwestern University. I stayed to teach in the Chicago area for three years before moving back to the island! I am so happy to be back home and to be able to work with students at Sakai. I am passionate about integrating social-emotional and equity work into all aspects of my teaching. In my classroom, you can expect lots of great conversations, community-building, and activities as we learn together!
