With my parents' encouragement, I graduated from Bremerton High School a semester early and went to Gualeguaychú, Argentina, to live with my cousins and attend their school as an exchange student for a year. It completely changed the course of my life.
When I returned to the US, I earned my degree in Spanish at the University of Washington and then went to Japan, to teach English for two years in a high school housed in a 1200-year-old castle!
After returning to the US and earning my Master in Teaching degree from UW, I raised two wonderful children and returned to teaching. I have been teaching Spanish on Bainbridge Island since 2011.
When I’m not teaching or reading or playing games with my family, I sing with Schola Nova on Bainbridge and The Esoterics in Seattle. I also enjoy traveling. I have visited 24 countries, mostly in South America, Asia and Europe, and 24 US states. In the future I hope to revisit Scandinavia and Japan, visit India and the Middle East, hike the Camino de Santiago in northern Spain, have a teaching adventure in Argentina, and finally get to visit and explore México.
I am looking forward to working with you to help you achieve your goals!
