Principal's Message

Dear Sakai Families,

I hope you are enjoying these final days of summer! This week, our staff returned to the building, and the hallways are buzzing with energy as we thoughtfully prepare for a strong and inspiring launch to the new school year!

As a community of educators, we are committed to creating an environment where each and every student feels a true sense of belonging. Ensuring our students feel seen, valued, and connected is at the heart of our aim at Sakai. In the spirit of cultivating a strong community, we hope you will join us this Friday for Sakai’s Ice Cream Social!

  • When: This Friday, from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM
  • What to Expect: Students can drop off their school supplies, meet their teachers, and get comfortably situated around the school before the first day.

A special thank you to our amazing PTO for supplying the ice cream and for all the support they provide our school!

For logistical information regarding the start of school and any other information you may need, please review the Sakai Family Handbook. Returning 6th-grade families will notice that this remains virtually identical to last year's guide. As I settle into my new role, maintaining consistency with our existing, student-centered systems is a top priority. Sakai is an outstanding school with a strong foundation; should we need to make responsive adjustments down the road, we will communicate those changes clearly so your family is well aware, but for now you can count on the systems you are accustomed to. Additionally, you will find a link to the BISD Family Handbook, which outlines key district policies and serves as a helpful reference guide.

I am truly thrilled to join this incredible community! On Friday, at the Ice Cream Social, I will be out and about greeting students and families. When you see me, please come say, "Hello!" I am eager to begin learning the names and faces of our wonderful Sakai students and families!

Looking forward to connecting!
